Compressed Breathing Air Quality Testing

Breathing air products according to Occupational Safety and Health Standards OSHA 1910 “In any workplace where respirators are necessary to protect the health of the employee or whenever respirators are required by the employer, the employer shall establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with worksite-specific measures”.  Part of that program is to periodically test the compressed air quality.  Compressed air for breathing can be used in a variety of different applications including automotive paint booths, welding, sandblasting, aircraft manufacturers, chemical plants,  or general industry.

Breathing air products and respirators should meet or exceed CGA Grade D or OSHA 1910.134 requirements.  TRI offers reliable 24 hour results, online air testing lab reports via MYAIR, and excellent customer service. Our Compressed Air Sampling Equipment was developed to capture a non-pressurized sample of compressed breathing air.

Since each company has unique respiratory requirements; we can assist you with the correct testing equipment to meet your specific needs for compressed breathing air analysis. We can also assist you with setting up a custom compressed air quality program for your company for Grade D, OSHA, NFPA 1989 or other air quality standards. Standards and Testing Services

Our analytical laboratory, founded in 1975, specializes in the detection and quantification of possible dangerous components of compressed air. Our routine air analyses include: Oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Total Gaseous Hydrocarbons, Methane, Moisture/Dew Point, Oil Mist and Particulates.  Compressed air testing can also include SQF Compressed Air Purity, Direct Product Contact or Indirect Product Contact for Manufacturing Air.

Additional analyses are available upon request and include sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, halogenated hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents and fiber counts. Analysis of purity gases such as oxygen,carbon dioxide, nitrogen and nitrous oxide are also available.

We provide you with an air sampling kit to capture a sample of your compressed air and you return the sample to the lab for testing. Your results are then compared to the your required air quality standard and reported. Your air sampling results are available within 24 hours through our online report access via MyAir.
